School Board Elections

Nominating petition forms for the April 4, 2017, school board election in DeKalb Community Unit School District 428 are now available.  Persons interested in running for the DeKalb Board of Education may obtain candidate packets from the County Clerk’s Office, 110 East Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL 60178 or by visiting the website at: http://dekalb.il.clerkserve.com/?cat=33.  The filing period for this election is December 12 through December 19, 2016.  The school board election is nonpartisan and board candidates do not run under political party affiliation.


Three seats on the seven-member DeKalb Board of Education will be filled through this electoral process. Candidates elected will serve four-year terms expiring in April, 2021.  To be eligible to serve, a school board member must be, on the date of election, a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years old, a registered voter, and a resident of the State of Illinois and of the school district for at least one year immediately preceding the election.
