posted Dec 2, 2016, 7:42 AM by Melissa Smith

The DeKalb community is invited to attend an open forum to help develop questions for a school climate research study in DeKalb School District 428. Results of this study will help guide the school board and its leadership teams in implementing a diversity plan that insures all students opportunities for equity and excellence. During the meeting, community members will be able to review district data on achievement and disciplinary trends as well as special education, gifted and English Language Learners programs. There will be two community forums. The first will be held December 8, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 Twombly Road, DeKalb, Illinois. Childcare will be available at the church. If you are unable to attend the first forum, we will be holding a second forum at the DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak Street, DeKalb, IL on December 12, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. in the Yusunas room and Zimmerman room for child care. For transportation, please contact Andria Mitchell at 815-754-2389. For further information regarding the forums, please contact Melissa Smith at 815-754-2292.
