Letter to Staff from Dr. Hawk, Interim Superintendent

posted Oct 19, 2016, 3:10 PM by Melissa Smith

Dear District #428 Staff Members:

I wanted to touch base to thank you for the warm welcome I received during my first two weeks. I am very impressed by the good work you are doing with kids and look forward to learning even more about that work.

I had the privilege to sit down with each of the district's building leaders to talk openly and honestly about what is taking place in our schools including the issues facing our school system. Their perspectives (which strongly reflected the individual school's perspectives) and ideas for building an even greater organization. This will be an important step for us moving forward. Many of their ideas focused on developing a shared vision for the future and developing a strong trusting relationship between all stakeholder groups.

I look forward to coming out to the schools as often as I can to meet you and learn more about your perspectives on the district and to discuss what we need to do to meet the needs of our students and support those who serve them.

Sincerely,

Brad Hawk
